Child Specialist
Judy has
worked directly with children of varying ages for over 25 years both as
an educator and as a counsellor. She has case managed children with
Asperger’s , Tourettes, FASD, attachment disorders, ADD/ADHD, and
those on the Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has developed Individualized
Education Plans, Behaviour Intervention Plans and Multisystem treatment
plans for children with profound emotional, behavioural disorders.
She counsels children going through family separation and divorce, and grief and loss as well as helping children with academic difficulties, developmental delays, challenging behaviour and those with anger management issues and social skills concerns.
She consults collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams of professionals including: psychiatrists, medical doctors, psychologists, social workers, speech and language pathologists, therapists, and professionals in community based programs regarding children’s behavioural, social, emotional and cognitive issues.
As a child specialist in Collaborative Practice Law, Judy’s role is to help ascertain the views of children while being aware of their developmental stages in order to facilitate their adjustment during the separation and divorce process.
